Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between a dietitian and nutritionist?

Both a nutritionist and dietitian can provide advice about food and how it impacts health. However, a dietitian is qualified to focus on medical advice and medical nutrition therapy. A nutritionist’s role is to provide nutrition advice to prevent disease and promote health and well-being.

2. What can I expect from an initial consultation?

Prior to the consultation, I’ll provide you with a health intake form and a 3-day food diary to complete (or we can work through these together). During the consultation, we will discuss your current eating patterns, alcohol and caffeine intake, exercise, stress levels and sleep. I may suggest some initial food swaps and other foods you could add into your diet. I may also suggest some things that you can also discuss with your GP.

Moving forwards, we will develop a realistic plan of how you can work towards your health and nutrition goals. We will discuss your current lifestyle, talk through any barriers, and set some short and long term goals.

3. Can I use my NDIS funding to pay for consultations?

If you are either a self-managed or plan-managed NDIS Participant, and your goals align with my services, you may be able to claim the cost of consultations. If you are unsure, you can check with your NDIS Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Whether you are already an NDIS Participant, or considering your NDIS options, you can book a 15 minute initial chat with me to explore how Eat for Well-Being services could support your NDIS plan. However, you do not need to be an NDIS Participant to use Eat for Well-Being to support your health, nutrition and well-being goals.

4. Do you offer a payment plan?

With the cost of living increasing, we understand the pressures placed on individuals and families. Please contact us prior to booking to discuss reduced rates/payment plans for low income earners.

5. Do you offer a discount for seniors or concession card holders?

Yes, I offer a 15 percent discount for seniors and concession card holders. Please contact us prior to booking for this discount code.

6. Do you provide a Defence/Veteran family or APOD discount?

Yes, as a Defence partner myself, I know how hard it can be to move around and have to start from scratch to find support services and build networks. I provide a 15 percent discount to all Defence and Veteran members and their families in recognition of the valuable contribution and sacrifices this unique community makes. In further support of APOD and this community, I provide a 20 percent discount to Defence family and veteran members who are registered with APOD. Please contact us prior to booking for these discount codes.
